Function Keys
AutoClerk takes the approach that many times there may only be one clerk, and that person is expected to do everything (checkins, checkouts, reservations, cashiering, etc.); and while it would be nice to start one thing, finish it, and move on, that is not realistic. Many times a clerk will start one task, get interrupted and need to return to it when finished.
At the bottom of almost every screen, you'll notice a line of function key assignments. This command line is present throughout all of AutoClerk's menus and entry screens. These function keys allow interruptions at almost any point to: checkin a guest, print a folio, post charges or payments, check room availability, update room status, attach notes, find in-house guests and request on-line documentation.
When using a function key, AutoClerk interrupts the current task and opens a window at the bottom of the screen. When finished, the clerk is returned to the interrupted task, without the inconvenience of losing any information already entered.
